Bail Bonds in hammond LA
Free Bail Money - Bail Funds in Louisiana - Help With Bond Money
Bail funds provide free bail money for individuals who otherwise would not have a way out of jail. Before approaching charitable bail funds, first go through the local jurisdiction to discuss lowering the set bail amount. A magistrate or judge can assess each individual case on the basis of low income in hope of lowering the bail amount.
After exhausting these options, the next step is to approach local charity bail funds to see if they can assist in providing a free bail bond. Nationwide bail funds exist if options are limited in your area.

A friend had bail set at $10,000 in Hammond. I only needed $1,200 to bail her out via a bondsman. I paid the bondsman $900 and only owed him $300. When I went to court to give the bondsman the remaining $300, the bondsman refused to take the $300 and they locked her up. Is there anything I can do to get the money back?
This is an interesting case which seems unfair but we don’t have the details from the bondsman’s side of the story. Normally, a bondsman will not return the person to jail unless there is a specific reason causing their $10,000 commitment to be at risk. While your fee was only $1,200 from the Hammond bondsman, the bail agent is at risk for the full $10,000. It seems you had an agreement with the bondsman to pay the remaining $300. As long as that payment was made in time, the agreement should have held and the person should not have been re-arrested.
It seems something happened while your friend was out on release. Is it possible certain bail terms were not followed, like a possible failed drug test, not checking in, leaving the state, or some other agreement that was made with the bondsman? The bondsman is able to return the person to jail if they feel the person is a flight risk.
You likely cannot get your bail money back since certain bail services were provided and the bondsman has the legal risk to surrender the person. We need more details from the bondsman’s side of the story as to why they re-arrested the person.
